Uganda, Africa

March 16 – 27, 2025

Have you ever wanted to go to Africa? Your opportunity has arrived.

We are thrilled to announce our 2025 mission to Mother Africa, Uganda 2025. We will be serving in the village of Kasese, a short drive from the famous safari site of Queen Elizabeth National Park in the southwest of the country. This area is in dire need of eye care, and this mission is guaranteed to be epic. You don’t want to miss out on this very special bucket list adventure.

The mission will occur inclusive of our in-country dates of March 16 (Sunday) to March 27, 2025 (Thursday). We will fly into Entebbe International Airport. We will lodge at the two beautiful, huge properties (in Kampala and Kasese) of For World Wide Smiles, who will be our primary partner on this journey. The organization, whose founders I have known for 20 years, is focused on free dental care in the area. They have great expertise and connections in Uganda, so we will be getting an insiders experience.

We will conduct our free eye care clinic over four days from Wednesday, March 19 to Saturday, March 22. This will allow us several days for ground travel, shopping, site seeing, and an optional safari.

The project donation for this mission is only $1500 per volunteer. Please know that all of your project donation is used to fund program and project activities. Sight is a Right is an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff. Your project donation and airfare are tax deductible as allowable by law.

Included are:

  • Up to 11 nights lodging from Sunday, March 16 to Thursday, March 27. This may be shortened to as little as 8 nights if necessary, but you will miss several fun activities.
  • All meals from dinner on Sunday, March 16 to breakfast on Thursday, March 27 (special dietary needs will be accommodated).
  • In country transportation for all included events.
  • Up to a US$1,000,000 travel medical insurance policy (US$100,000 for those 64 and older).
  • All project overhead expenses.
  • All clinic materials including medications, reading, sun, and prescription glasses (you may be asked to help carry supplies).
  • Team t-shirt.
  • Shopping day in Kasese.
  • Shopping day in Kampala.

Not included are:

  • Airfare to and from Entebbe International Airport (we are traveling off season so airfares should be lower than normal). If you are a medical professional, there is a chance your airfare will be covered by Emirates Airlines. Details will be forthcoming.
  • Special beverages, extra food, and excursions.
  • Safari on Sunday, March 23 (US$200 per person). This is a deeply discounted rate.
  • Gratuities.

There is a lot of interest, and we expect to fill up fast for this once in a lifetime mission.
